Quality Engineer – Chicago Area

Job Duties:

Inspection and quality planning activities requiring the development of traceability plans and control of associated documentation.
Assure compliance with contractual issues for complex programs and flow-down of contract requirements to suppliers and appropriate Moog disciplines.
Conduct failure analysis by utilizing organizational, technical knowledge, analytical and communication skills.
Provide technical support to Manufacturing, Vendors, Customers, and Engineering disciplines.
Prepare quality assurance proposals and related cost estimates.

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering and three years’ experience, two of which must be in Quality Engineering.
Proficient user of various statistical, spreadsheet, word processing, and database software packages.
Mastery of military specifications most frequently encountered in quality programs.
Proven statistical methods background to develop unique solutions to continuous improvement and process monitoring problems.
Ability to communicate effectively with staff and management.

Technical Project Manager (TPM) – Chicago Area

Job Duties:

Develop new product requirements through consulting with customers and sales personnel.
Lead and manage the successful launch of all custom products by collaborating with business development (BD) and
product teams to gather specifications and ensuring the project objectives are met within scope, schedule, and budget,
while exceeding quality objectives and gaining customer satisfaction and acceptance.
Lead technical discussions with customers and key stakeholders and provide technical support to BD managers to
establish clear product specifications and performance requirements. Support BD team with product demonstrations.
Lead the systematic capture, development and documentation of fully verifiable requirements into a total systems
solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule, and cost constraints through consulting with customers, staff and
sales personnel.
Facilitate design reviews, interface with cross-functional teams to ensure design reliability, manufacturability, and
serviceability, while meeting program milestones.
Establish and monitor engineering project budgets and schedules.
Prepare successful proposal designs, cost estimates, and shoulder the responsibility for writing the technical volume for
proposals.
Serve as the project lead for product development efforts, i.e. project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and
controlling, and closing.
Coordinate and plan execution efforts across multiple product development teams.
Represent firm in a manner consistent with its technical reputation.

Job Qualifications (Minimum):

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited engineering school.
7-10 years of industry related experience developing electromechanical products.
Minimum 3 years of project/program management experience.
Demonstrated project/product development leadership skills, a continued desire to utilize these skills and the ability to
mentor and coach other engineers to achieve product initiatives on complex development and production projects.
Self-starter able to multitask and successfully manage multiple projects and teams.
Excellent problem solving, decision making, and teamwork.
Experience planning and coordinating development tasks across multiple functions (engineering, supply chain,
production).
Practical experience in all aspects/phases of product design and system integration & test.
Must possess outstanding oral and written communication skills.

Travel Requirements: Up to 15%.

Job Qualifications (Preferred):

Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
Progressive design experience with electrical systems, electro-mechanical systems, and/or positioning systems.
Familiarity with Military Standards.
Ability to read, understand, and interpret system level schematics and drawings and understand limitations of design
modifications.

Continuous Improvement Engineer – Chicago Area

Job Summary:

The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for the support of manufacturing operations in the development, planning and execution of Lean strategies and metrics. This position will require an experienced Lean leader with manufacturing industry background and is able to facilitate and drive change in a fast paced and “ever changing” environment. Th key to success in this position is the ability to identify and drive operational improvements at all levels utilizing a very “hands on” approach to creating value and buy-in as the lead change facilitator for the plant’s Lean transformation.

Job Duties:

Develop a Lean manufacturing strategy for all manufacturing assets to ensure the facility’s objectives are met in the areas of safety, quality, profitability, waste reduction, OEE and team excellence.
Facilitate the selection, scope, and planning of specific improvement projects with a primary focus on business performance improvements that yield zero accidents, defect free products capable of passing field testing, on demand and on time delivery, at the lowest cost.
Manage and take a lead role in promoting and improving quality processes, expectations and results.
Facilitate Kaizen events in support of the business plan.
Conduct 30, 60, and 90-day post Kaizen event reviews to ensure sustainability of event results.
Attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
Develop training materials and effectively deliver those materials in a team environment to ensure employees throughout the facility are trained in CI concepts and philosophy.

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Black Belt Certification is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years leading Kaizen events, teaching TPS, and the 8 Tools of Lean in a continuous improvement role.
Minimum of 4 years of experience related to continuous improvement or similar project management.
Minimum of 5 years working in a manufacturing environment.
Engineering Experience – prefer Industrial, Chemical, Materials Engineer.
Experience with change management.
Must have organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, exceptional attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
Must possess good problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
